About

I’m Pav.

I’m an actor, musician, writer, and dad.

I have written and recorded quite a bit of music in my time, much of which you can find on the major streaming and download platforms under this name, Pav Alexander.

My writing and theatre work is mostly to be found under my birth name, Paul Fidalgo

I come from New Jersey. I have lived other places. I have a master’s degree in political management from George Washington University. I now live in Maine.

I was for a time a contributor for Friendly Atheist and Android Police. I have written for other outlets here and there, so you might see my byline on stuff from CNN.com, Religion News Service, USA Today, and probably some other places too.

I was one of the contributors to the Wicked Problems Collaborative‘s books What Do We Do About Inequality? with the essay “Noble Fictions and Sacred Texts” and What Do We Do After the Pandemic? with the essay “The Aliens Among Us.”

My essay “The Dead Tree” was published in the thirteenth Dark Mountain book.

In October 2017, I was the second Richard Kirschman Free Thought Fellow at the Mesa Refuge in Point Reyes Station, California. That, at long last, resulted in the very long article “Post-Humans on a Sterile Promontory: The New Myths of Transhumanism and the Dark Mountain,” published in Free Inquiry in 2021. At one point I was even editor of that magazine for a couple of years. I’m not anymore.

I hosted the Center for Inquiry podcast Point of Inquiry for a handful of episodes here and there and I did a mostly good job, I think.

I could use all the help I can get, so if you’d like to support me even a little, please do so.

I have an idea: Go and explore my other Internet manifestations so you can feel like you really know me.
